Spring walk at 2 p.m. Sunday of Eastwoods
Leslie Kane (453-8039) and George Goss (453-3035) co-lead this two-hour walk on easy terrain with a short stretch of rocky trail and three "step-over" water crossings. Meet at East Bearhouse Road trailhead (Goose Lane to Clapboard Hill Road to Podunk Road to East Bearhouse Road trailhead).

Spring walk at 1 p.m. Monday at Medad Stone Tavern
Join Rob Valley (458-8101) on Memorial Day for a pair of loop walks beginning at Medad Stone Tavern: (1) Westwoods Red Square Trail and (2) Spencer's Creek. Each loop is less than one mile with terrain suitable for everyone. Come early to enjoy lunch at the Keeping Society Memorial Day picnic. Park at Cox School.

Spring walk at 9 a.m. Saturday of Broomstick Ledges
Join the land trust's Westwoods Trails Committee Chairman Paul Proulx (687-7756) on this two-and-a-half-hour " Connecticut Forest and Park Association Trails Day hike of the 141-acre Broomstick Ledges Property, including part of the proposed New England National Scenic Trail. Rocky gorges, streams, ferneries, and lots of frogs. Meet at Bluff Head parking lot on Route 77.

Annual meeting of the Guilford Land Conservation Trust at 1 p.m. at the Dudley Farm at the corner of Routes 77 and 80 in Guilford. Free and open to the public. Guest speaker James Prosek. Food provided by the land trust. The meeting will be held rain or shine. Children welcome. A 90-minute walk in the woods will follow the meeting. See our newsletter.
