The Guilford Land Conservation Trust has entered into an agreement to preserve the Broomstick Ledges area. The planned acquisition of the 141-acre property would be the largest in the land trust's 42-year history.
The property, which has been a top priority of the land trust for many years, is the essential link in a corridor that connects 17,000 acres of open space running from Madison across Guilford and into North Branford.
Protecting the property would preserve the spectacular vista from Bluff Head and keep intact a significant section of the popular Mattabesett Trail.
